AUGUST 18, 2016: A NOTE FROM OUR PASTORS

Thank you for a great kickoff to our Thrive series! The way you sing in worship makes Jesus smile! We tried something new in worship this past Sunday. If you missed it, we have added an intentional time of prayer. If you have a need and would like someone to pray for you, privately share your request during the time designated in worship. No one will force you; it is completely voluntary. Our desire is to activate the power of prayer at Heritage. Our hope is your never leave the building with a burden on your heart without a prayer said for you. We believe in the power of prayer!

God is blessing Heritage with many guests who are checking us out for the first time. Please, please be intentional with those seated near you. You could even let our guest have the best seats! People expect us to greet them at the door, but the mark of a friendly church is one who speaks to guests in their seats and after the service is over. We think Heritage is a friendly church (cause you're all awesome), and the last thing we ever want is for someone to come in and say no one even said hello. We truly appreciate your help in greeting our guests.

A great time was had by those who attended our Girls n' Guys night! The church that plays together, stays together! Look for us to do it again soon. If you are looking to make friends, don't forget to sign up for our Grow Groups.

This Sunday is Frank Garcia's final day as our worship leader. It has been a gift to have Frank at Heritage. He is a true servant and a very gifted musician. We will welcome Frank back to see us again from time to time. To honor Frank and celebrate National Cupcake Day, we will have a reception after second service to thank him for his service. Don't miss this opportunity to wish him well and take a pic with him.

On a personal note, as your pastors, we want to say this - we are loving Heritage! It is a privilege to serve as your pastors. If we can ever do anything for you, please let us know.

God loves you more than you know,
Pastors

AUGUST 11, 2016: A NOTE FROM OUR PASTORS

God is at work at Heritage! A huge thanks to all of you for being so faithful to worship! Your presence is needed and appreciated. It is a huge encouragement to the other people at Heritage, to our staff, and to us, as your pastors. Please continue to bless your church with your presence, and please invite a friend to worship!

We are super excited about our Guys/Girls Night out next Monday, Aug. 15th. If you are looking to make friends, this is a GREAT opportunity! We will have free childcare for our kids. We do need your help with a preliminary count for Cork & Crust (Girls) and Beauregards (Guys). If you are attending, please RSVP here

Don't forget our One Thing for August is Gummy Vitamins for malnourished kids in Thailand. Our own Allie and David Houle will be going on mission there in September.

A huge thanks to everyone who has been working on the recent renovations for our guests at Heritage! At the risk of leaving someone out, we do want to thank some of the people who have served so faithfully! A huge thanks to Randy Chavez, Eileen Chavez, Lauren Chavez, Katie Chavez, Chris Howell, Kelley Howell, Greg Clare, Matt Ridley, Tasha Ridley, Casey Brown, Nile Southward, Logan Howell, Lindsay Howell, Holden Wells, Dotson Wells, Valeria Wells, Kyle Gillespie, Alyssa Gillespie, Aubrey Wickham, Patrick Wickham, Matt Wickham, Michelle Wickham, Ron Cary, Nickee Cary, Angela Clare, David Houle, Allie Houle, Mike Bankester, Curtis Biffle, Rick Morgan, Dan Green, Nick Esslingen, Sandy Kritner, Frank Garcia, Allen Pendleton, David Crouch, Carla Crouch, Don Gold, Wayne Pierce, Gabriel Pierce, Virginia Hayes, Kent Eisele, Denise Eisele, and the names we have forgotten...So many servants, making a big difference!

This week, we kick off a new message series entitled Thrive. If you are living for the weekends, feel like you've been going through a rough season, if life has lost a bit of its luster, or if you feel as if most days you are just going through the motions, this series is for you! God wants you to do more than just survive: God wants you to thrive!

Can't wait to see you in worship,
Pastors

JULY 7, 2016: A NOTE FROM OUR PASTORS...

JULY 7, 2016: A NOTE FROM OUR PASTORS...

We’re baaack!!! Kind of scary, huh?  A huge thanks to everyone who filled in so we could take a short break after the mission trip. We are so excited to be in Madison full-time!

Change is coming. Why change everything?  Why change the look, the feel, the name, the mission...well...everything really?

From the beginning, we wanted to ensure that this church survived.  Mission accomplished.  Most new church starts never make it past the first year or so, so Madison has been successful in its primary mission…survival.

Now it's time to change focus, to move from survive to thrive.  This means we must change the way we are.  The results we achieved early on were exactly what we were structured to achieve.  But when the focus changes, our church must change to achieve it.

This means changing the name to Heritage in order to identify with our community; this means changing our stated mission so that it is the good news that speaks to our neighbors; this means changing the look and feel of our building so that it reflects our mission; this means listening together to hear God’s vision for Heritage, and this means upgrading our furnishings, decor and children's areas because first impressions matter.

In fact, this Sunday you will see our church is in the midst of change.  It will be messy, incomplete, and somewhat disconcerting, but we have to change if we're going to build a Heritage for our community.

Our vision team has some big dreams, but our God has even bigger ones!

There is a place here for all of us here. Email us to ask how you can help bring new life to Heritage Church!  Frankly, we need each other more now than ever.

Looking forward to Summer Blockbusters and just being with you Sunday. Bring a friend! Someone in your life needs an invite!

See you soon.

Love and prayers,

Michael and Suzanne
